Philips DVD player DVP3260K freeze when play a bad disc

I just bought the Philips players a few days ago, mainly to watch DVD and use it also as CD player. The basic sound is decent, smooth and liquid, very good value for about US$ 60.
I had used it a few days then modified the power supply with bigger and better caps ( Sanyo, Nichicon etc) at the AC rectifier stage and the 5V and 12V DC. Also the output coupliong caps.
No problem until I played a difficult disc, which my other players could not played. The problem is that it played for a few minutes, but when it hit the difficult to play section, the screen when blank, and the player digital disply just freeze at the last disply. On Off the switch does not help at all.
I got it started the first time, after 15 minutes off, tried the same disc, and it went frozen again. Now after an hour or so, it still have no chance to recover from the sleep...

Any advise???
