RE: Your experience with HD on ATT&T U-verse

I don't have it, but there are plenty of posts over on avsforum.com in which Uverse subscribers say that they have more HD channels than they were getting from cable or satellite, but that the picture quality was better (i.e., less compression) on cable or satellite.

Also, AT&T's system uses CAT5 (Ethernet) cabling to connect sets to the signal (which comes into your house over the phone line), so they will have to install different wiring and an outlet for each set that you want on this system, unless you are one of those rare people who has a hardwired (not WiFi) computer network in your home. Eventually they may offer wireless cable boxes.

Based on these considerations, I decided not to get UVerse, since I get a very good cable picture via Time Warner, and the added AT&T HD channels weren't interesting to me.
