New tv problem

We just purchased a new LG 42" LCD TV from Fry's last Saturday. After turning on the tv the first time, we noticed a faint, oval-shaped image in the center of the screen.It looks like a burnt-in image. I don't notice it watching sports, but you can make it out, although faintly with some dark shows. I'm wondering it if is a defect in the backlight system?
