broadcast models

Did you mean TC-P50V10? If so, that's a 2009 consumer model. The current 50" broadcast model is from 2008. One year of technology makes a difference in specs. Panasonic skipped the 12 series for the 50" broadcast model (notice the 11 in the model number on their site, while some other models show a 12 in the model number).

As for the advantages of the broadcast models:

easier to calibrate

Service Menu is accessible without hoops to jump through

"secret menu" allows additional customization such as turn-on volume, maximum volume, turn-on input, etc

internal amps to power better speakers instead of integrated speakers

bezel is charcoal black -- not shiny silver or glossy black

most video inputs are on a card and can be changed which allow you to customize your inputs

no automatic non-user controlled black level increase at certain intervals

accept more input resolutions than consumer models via PC which can switch between RGB and YPbPr), RGBVH and DVI-D inputs
