CAT6 or HDMI for in-wall HDTV setup?

I'll be running a short run (~10 feet) of cable inside the wall behind the HDTV to the floor so that I can plug in the DVR and BluRay. I was going to install 2 runs of HDMI cable but then read that it might be better to go with CAT6 and then use CAT6-to-HDMI converter plugs. The CAT6 would be easier to install.

Which provides better picture quality, or is there a difference?
Which one provides better future proofing, as best as we can foresee at this point? Thanks!
