swapping rf cable woes

I'm trying to improve my cable performance by replacing the stock Comcast 75 ohm with Audioquest VDM-5. On the channels that work, the video and audio are MUCH better. However, I am only able to get some of my channels (both HD and std.) Why is this happening? I run HDMI from the box to my new Sony. Any help would be appreciated!
