Extracting a sound track from a DVD

Is there any way a sound track can be recorded from a DVD onto a CD? There are many music video DVD's out there that would lend themselves to CD playback say in a car etc. I don't think there is a copyright issue here because I would be taking the sound track from a disc that I purchased. Any ideas out there? Thanks One last item. Is a software program such as Toast capable of accomplishing this?
