Plasma questions

Greetings!

I just moved to New Zealand and brought my 60" Pioneer Kuro plasma (a 120v/60 Hz model.) I have a nice, tricked out 4000 watt down-converter changing the AC from 240v to 120v, which serves only the TV. No problem there, I believe. But it seems the picture was simply significantly sharper back in the USA (Southern California area), with less sparklies and grain, and better definition.

The first thing that came to mind was the 60Hz vs 50Hz inconsistency, yet I was told by Pioneer before the move not to worry, that the DC rectification eliminates that as a problem, and that with the 4000 watt AC voltage step-down tranny doing its thing, I should be 'worry-free'. Thus, I brought the big behemoth, rather than selling it back in the USA and getting a new plasma here in NZ after arrival.

My questions are:

1.) Would the change from 60 Hz to 50 Hz AC cause problems for PQ on a 60" Pioneer plasma, or was the technician at Pioneer correct in saying, "No worries there... "?

2.) If 50 Hz is problematic, is it possible to have the power supply replaced/modified so that the TV would now be a 50 Hz unit, and how would one go about doing so? (It should be noted the Pioneer tech said that was not possible, but some Kiwi videophile friends have said it should be possible, just very likely a pain to do, and potentially expensive. I have no idea who is correct.)

3.) What type of AC filter would make sense in this application? (Obviously, one that is a 240V design, of course!)

[FYI for Q3- Right now, my AC power cord is a custom DIY 11 gauge design that has three Bybee Large Quantum Purifier filters, a Z-Sleeve, Furutech male and female connectors and 3 yellow quartz noise absorbers (Alan Maher Designs -AMD- stuff), one at each end, and one in the middle, and of course, a single ring ferrite ( Audioquest type, from Mike Percy) just before the Bybees at the female IEC. These have been superb in bringing the TV's performance up to a truly spectacular level. My HDMI is the top of the line Wire World, with DIY shielding and yellow quartz AMD noise filters at each end and the middle, along with ferrites at each end as well. These tweaks have also taken the Wire World's already stellar performance to another breath-taking level, so I feel my cabling is fine. I am just interested in what others feel offer significant upgrade in AC quality in the way of after-market commercially available filters or conditioners, especially ones that are specifically intended for video applications, or work quite well therewith. Of course, DIY AC filters and designs are also welcome, just please provide details necessary for proper manufacturing and implementation of same.]

Thanks a million in advance for any and all suggestions and opinions!
