Advice on UK Internet TV video

Whatever I do, I don't seem able to get really good web video from BBC iPlayer or from the other uk channels. This is with 512k HD3670 or 1G HD5450 fanless card which play MPEG video satifactorilly via HDMI/DVI into 2 Dell 1920x1200 monitors.

The images are often far too saturated colourwise with what seem very poor Gamut and too high a contrast. For some programs it has been necessary to reset my video playback parameters to get good results.

Playing from computer into an LCD lower resolution panel often gives better results as I can reset colour and contrast easilly via remote.

I know that part of the reason is Flash but is there a way of getting round it? And are there other ways to improve picture quality?

I have ultra high speed 16 Mb/s link and this is no different from a 3Mb/s link. The hires channels often do not play properly either.

Any advice/comment received with thanks.
