RE: Feeding signals, WinXPpro to projector/receiver?

If it's running XP, is it even fast enough to play high-def content? A new video card with hardware acceleration should help. Probably just about any current card can do that, though if you only have an AGP slot, the selection will be very limited. That would also get you an HDMI or DVI output, and probably support for HDMI audio as well.

I don't know about wireless HDMI; a quick search suggests that it can cost as much as a new 5.1 AV receiver.

Monoprice sells HDMI cables 100 feet long, so I guess 35 feet isn't a problem.

You should think about getting an HDMI receiver, though; it would be more convenient to run all sources through it, assuming the HTPC isn't the only thing connected. And then you can enjoy the nice lossless audio from Blu-ray, which should be a high priority for any inmate of the Asylum. You might be able to install a good sound card in the PC and use the 5.1 analog inputs on the receiver, but I think that's money you'd be better off investing in a modern receiver.
