It basically derives the Center and Surround channels from a 2-channel analog source (ie, it's Matrix rather than Discrete). It will work, if that's what you want. The specs say it puts out 25 watts per speaker, which isn't very much. However, if you don't listen loud or have a small room, this may be a nice setup.
