How good is the zoom, pan, and single-frame?

Even though I've got 4 other things connected that can play (and upscale) DVDs, I still use the Sony DVP-NS75H HDMI DVD player because nothing else is as good for zooming in to see more details, or single-framing to see how an effect was done. The only quibble is the zoom steps are too coarse; there's no zoom level that's suitable for "un-windowboxing" a non-anamorphic DVD.

So, I'm curious how well (or if) this Sony Blu-ray player implements those features.
