RE: "decode codecs"

Thanks for your response, but this is what I am referring to:

"I think the Anthem rep was suggesting the 6 channel because the AVM 40 does not decode the Blue Ray HD codecs
The correct thing to do here would be to use the HDMI and set your Pioneer BDP-09 to decode the HD audio and send it out as LPCM not Bitstream as the Anthem AVM 40 does not decode the Blue Ray HD audio codecs."

So, again I ask, could this be the reason for the considerably low resale value, or are there some other issues with this unit. Im thinking that if I can run the AVM 40 with an Oppo 103, and let the Oppo handle all the audio and video processing, and let the Anthem handle audio and switching duties for my system. Would that be a good option from a performance and functional standpoint?
