I saw a LOT of HD TVs when I was shopping.
Panasonic Vierra Plasma was the ONLY choice for me!
Everything else looked harsh and etched, while Plasma is rich, smooth, liquid in comparison.
On Directv, you can change the 480i to 480p.
Their HD Package has great pic, I use the Analog outs from the Sat Box for a modest 2ch system for the TV room, and No hum, as was reported by someone else about the Directv Box.
