I've done some research into this, and right now, there's absolutely no reason to plunk money down. I was actually one of the first (fools) to buy an HDTV before the whole standard was implemented - and ended up with a model that did NOT fully support HDCP... and having ended up junking it a few years back. HDTVs are so cheap and plentiful these days, and in retrospect, with the massive, ever ending changes in standards, PLUS the fact there's no real 4K content (other then a handful of options) - there's really ZERO benefit. Save your hard earned money!
