Help Me Use Ipad To Control Blu Ray Player?

TVs, VCRs, DVD players, Home Theater systems and more.

I've Googled a lot and found there are 'Blasters' and Apps that get universally poor reviews. Found the latest Samsung player with Smart Hub and a similarly equipped Sony that get poor reviews for theirs interfaces and on and on.

Why is this so difficult?

All I'd like is to use my Ipad or Iphone keyboard to input passwords when needed and search and play Youtube videos. I'm open to replacing my LG BD-670 if necessary.
