'John Wick 2': All you can eat death and destruction . . .

Posted by Billy Wonka on February 11, 2017 at 14:38:32:

This will be a great popcorn hit. It has three to four times the violence of the first JW and maybe half the plot time. Who needs plot when the movie opens with an extended demolition derby?

Action, action, action, as John eschews retirement and still seeks out his magic Mustang which he finds in Peter Stomare's garage. After wiping out half the landscape JW returns home only to be visited by a heavy-weight Roman criminal who holds Wick's "marker". All the Roman asks is to kill his sister so he can get her seat on the Council of 12. Reluctantly Wick goes and does what he has to do only to be double-crossed and face an army of assassins. I do mean army.

Wick's bad behavior gets him kicked out of The Continental Hotel and placed on an open, worldwide contract. He limps off into the future having to face every assassin everywhere. Nice ending. JW3 ought to be kick ass.

No need to speak of acting but the locations in Rome were splendid. Art direction big thumbs up and whomever makes up the blood or takes the tumbles gets a bonus.

It is what it is. Go see and try to count all the perps who go down to JW.
