keep my yamaha?

Posted by nathan on March 23, 1999 at 18:36:51:

i have a yamaha 793. my speakers are paradigm monitor 7, cc350 and mini monitor. i just bought a harman kardon amp. movie sound got better and so did my music. but i'm wondering if the yamaha is messing my system up. it is what you guys would call "bright" i think. the amp improved the sound but i wonder if a separate preamp and decoder would help even more. i'm looking at the sherwood because its cheap. i dont want to spend over 1000 dollars. the sherwood seems to get rave reviews and has dts and lots of inputs and featurss. would i notice a big difference between my yamaha 793 and the sherwood preamp and procesor? i don't really want to spend the money but if it will help a lot i will. thanks.
