21:9 video format

Posted by jedrider on October 9, 2016 at 11:40:28:

Anyone has enough experience with this format to say yay or nay?

I noticed a thin sliver of a movie broadcast on PBS yesterday evening.

I think it would have been so much nicer to have super wide 21:9 screens rather than the giant rectangular 16:9 screens.

You can still watch your news anchor on a letter box screen, but the movies would be more enjoyable and you wouldn't need a wall sized screen either.

Is 21:9 the same as 2.4:1?
