F1: The Movie . . . Have racing license will travel.

Posted by Billy Wonka on June 28, 2025 at 19:42:29:

One doesn't feel the grit, smell, or sweat of the pit in this one. Yet, all the elements of modernity that were missing from previous eras' films are here, clicking away like a mad science project. A modern F1 team is akin to a NASA/Tesla space launch with telemetry attached to everything. reading the pulse of everything and being followed by techs who make serious calls based on mechanical performance. This film will bring latecomers up to speed on how 2.4-second tire changes can (and must) happen.

Sonny Hayes (no kin to Issac) is a race "drifter". He never wants to settle down and floats from event to event, looking for a quick ride to keep him going. His old racing teammate, Ruben Cervantes, catches up with him and is in desperate need for a driver for the second seat of his failing F1 team. With much hesitation Pitt accepts and gains a young teammate, Joshua, who soon becomes a burr under Sonny's saddle. One of the surprise elements is Kerry Condon who plays the team's chief designer and wields the most charming Irish accent on the planet.

Once in the cockpit, your juices flow as you experience the horrifically high speeds these landlocked ABMs can attain. Speed needs brains and cleverness and that's where Sonny's borderline unscrupulous tactics come to play. He made the most of what he had whether it was clean or not.

At over two hours running length, you will graduate with a license to "watch" F1 racing in the future and earn the right to turn your nose up at Indy and NASCAR
