Band Of Outsiders

What more can be said? LOL.

Random thoughts:

The sheer exuberance and energy is breathtaking. Youth is beauty. Live to move; not love. Who thinks of tomorrow, of dirt or bathing, of sleep or food, much less death or consequences? Joyous trickery. Just for ME! YOU? Later, maybe.

The world is out there, let's learn English. Or not. Headlines only.

Absolutely no maintenance; only unpretentious, stylish presence, tires spinning just for the feeling. One thinks of young horses playing in the grass and mud. Hey, watch this! Gimme that!

The dance scene is an untiring delight. MADISON! So too the run through the Louvre. A rush to timelessness.

Not the same Paris as in Breathless. Just gritty, cold, wet background. Still it's indelible. Invincible. Top down.

Absurd climax. Crazy drawnout shootout. Whirly-drama death dance. Homage to the non-talkies? Channeling Tom Mix getting ambushed from the thicket.

Unlikely but promising denouement. If it were an American film we'd be seeing Band Of Outsiders II, and maybe III.

I know where Peter Sellers got his "look" for Dr. Strangelove. The tinted glasses, the haircut, the slight overbite, the angular countenance, the padded shoulders. Godard!
