Didn't like it. Disappointed. Don't like McAvoy; he's a creep...in any role. The screenplay tried to give the real Garrigan some undeserved humanity; he was a nasty selfish prick who knew exactly what was going on. Too little about the circumstances of Amin's Uganda. Wasted opportunity was right there with Jillian Anderson's mission character. Whittaker did well, but he certainly didn't break any new ground. Strong start in Amin character study ended weakly with Amin the buffoon. Unimaginitive use of actual Ugandan settings. Unremarkable camera work.
