it's bogus.
A film usually has a run, then it cools off. This is true also for "classics."
At some point, cd manufacturers decided that endless remasterings of "classic" popular music boosted sagged sales.
All these DCs are the same thing.
You could also call it the super-size disease, now having spread to cultural items.
Just 'cause it's bigger doesn't make it better.
