I Am Legend (warning:spoiler)

Posted by DavidLD on January 6, 2008 at 09:05:54:

I Am Legend is an interesting movie but only to the mid point. The real star of the movie is not Will Smith, but his big German Shepherd called Sam or (we later learn) Samantha. Some of the best acting I've ever seen from a dog. The problem is, the marvelous Sam the dog dies in the middle of the movie, and thus the relationship between will Smith and this wonderful dog. After that, the movie doesn't know what to do with itself and turns into a not very good horror movie with not much story. I would recommend going to the movie but get up and leave just after the dog dies. The special effects of a peopleless NYC are nothing short of spectacular and I have no idea how they did that. But again the interesting stuff is all in the first half of the movie
