"Angel Face," pairing Robert Mitchum and the impossibly innocent-looking

Posted by tinear on February 7, 2008 at 14:24:49:

23-yr. old Jean Simmons in an emotionally whip-sawing film noir.
Godard placed this gem in his top 10 of ALL sound films. I don't know if it's THAT good but it is damn good, especially the smoldering chemistry between the leads and the well-seasoned, clever-but-not-cutesie dialogue.
Otto Preminger directed and the stories about the film are legendary.
I won't divulge any now but it is a treasure trove of great tales.
See it!
