I was generally disappointed, and I'm a big fan of the first series.

How about (WAY) TOO MUCH CGI, TOO CONVOLUTED plot, and TOO LONG?

I felt like it was a mishmash of everything that has come in the interim: The Mummy, National Treasure, etc. ad nauseum. Said another way, lots of recycling here, but not much originality.

I felt exhausted and bored rather than genuinely entertained.

For the role played by Blanchett (who was wasted), I could see a younger Angelika Houston being suitable.

Of course, YMMV.
