I thought the acting failed

Great production, but Giamatti and Linney wore out their welcomes before the series was half over. I thought the 2nd tier cast did far better than the stars. The leads were stiff and pretentious without the chops to carry it off. By the third installment, Giammotti's unintelligible mumbling and synthetic accent was irritating, and I really tired of Linney's tight smile Mona Lisa imitation. Wilkerson's Ben Franklin was better than either. I felt like I was watching the animated figures at Disney World.

As the guy who jumped off the 20-story building shouted as he passed the 10th Floor "So far..so good!"
