"Lakeview Terrace": The other side of racism .....

Well, the previews kind of put you ahead of the cart for this film. Sammie Jackson is a hardassed cop who definitely has decent, moral instincts. As a single dad he wants his kids to grow up as good citizens and he has created a somewhat harsh life for his teenage daughter and younger son. Things are going along routinely until the young, attractive interracial couple move in right next door.

Jackson observes their arrival and, at first, mistakes the girl's father for an older husband. When he sees the white moving guy kiss the young bride he realizes there's cultural mismatch afoot. (Ironically, we see that the girl's well-to-do father is less than enthused over his white son-in-law.)

The movie lurches ahead with Jackson's out-of-control contempt for the loving couple and he does every possible thing to make their lives unbearable.

At the 3/4's mark we find why Jackson has such a contempt for interracial mixes other than it just doesn't look right.

The film is thought provoking. Myself and three other caucs sat in a crowd of about 60 blacks and many comments and exclamations were made during the film.

The film itself is no great effort and is mostly predictable. Best wait for the tele or Netflix.
