Le divorce---Or the promise of a fake comedy---

Posted by patrickU on January 8, 2009 at 04:20:46:

Ivory´s film was sold as a comedy, but it is not.
A tragy- comedy at best.
It got many bad review, but are they merited?
No they are not.
This film is very instructive about two different societies, the French one and the American one, from money to sex the later being the advantage of being..French...
A lot of big actors name, lesly Caron, Lhermite ( Le Dinner des Cons ) Kate Hudson Naomi Watts, Roman Duris and so on....
While a bit long at moment, it is a watchful film.
And with all its critics to the French society, some a bit nasty, some admirative, all in all a medium film, al dente at best.
