Frost/Nixon: Damn, Tricky almost won this one!

Posted by mr grits on January 25, 2009 at 18:15:30:

We were rooting for Trickster but, alas, he didn't make the final cut in the last session.

I found this to be an enjoyable chess match between two camps with Frost being the "vapid" guy in the middle.

Langella gave an oscar worthy performance but I felt it actually had a touch too much gravitas or Dracul about it.

Sheen was excellent and it's funny to see him as a werewolf and Nixon-bater in the same weekend. I guess in the UK you take what you can get. Platt and Rockwell gave their usual fine performance and Bacon shined as the "intense" ultimate Nixon man.

This film is a boomers delight and I see it pleasing both sides of the audience--which was a difficult task.
