Sorry, I had an entirely different impression.

I was very disappointed with Mummy 2.

1) I thought that the pacing was erratic; it seemed like the writers tossed in everything they could think of when they couldn't figure out how to make the plot work.

2) The dialogue and sight gags, which were quite clever in the first film, felt clunky and forced in the sequel.

3) While the actors sold the humor & thrills in the first film, CGI completely overwhelmed the sequel; it seemed like the actors were just along for the ride.

4) While I like both female leads, extended cat-fight sequences shouldn't be the main selling point. I guess it comes down to whether one craves a box of cereal for nourishment or the toy surprise inside.

Well, that about covers it, but I'd like to add that everyone's mileage varies, so maybe you just saw things in the sequel that I missed or I caught this film on a bad day (IOW, I'm not criticizing your taste, just expressing my dissatisfaction with the sequel).
