Arguably the best animated feature of them all

And a complete success from beginning to end. I'm still amazed at the artistry of the whole thing and the amazing growth in technique and storytelling from the splendid "Snow White" of three years earlier. As good as most of the Disney animated features are, and some are truly magnificent, "Pinocchio" remains the standard against which all others must be measured.

It's probably too intense for very small children but by the time they're five or six they're ready for it.
