The Boys Are Back

If you can distinguish a cliche from a sterotype you will enjoy the challenge thrown up by this film which exhibits both in equal and all encompassing amounts.
Clive Own plays a journalist whose wife dies and who at apparently nearing 50 cannot clean a house to save his life but is prepared to wash out his sorrows with whiskey with a gay abandon as to whether or not his 8 year old son is around.
Almost all the scenes appear gratuitous and the plot such as it is seems made up on the spot by a production crew hoping for a 4 Weddings Goes To Australia scenic spectacular.
How do we know when we're in England? It's raining. What do Aussie teens do as soon as they get off the leash... trash the house.
The kids don't talk like kids, the teens don;t talk like teens and I bloody well hope that adults don't talk like that!
I have rarely been so pleased not to have paid.
