He may have been nuts but Jackson was one talented, hard working man. I was surprised by how much control he exerted on every detail of the stage production and the energy levels he sustained over the rehearsal period - this would have taxed a much younger (and healthier) man.

Driven, I think< is not too strong a word to use, whatever one ultimately thinks of his music. Control freak is another. The man was not flakey when it came to his music and its presentation.
