of the most beautiful women I've seen on the screen in some time.
A young woman works hard at menial jobs to help her mother who has taken up with the slum's toughest gangster. It's only a matter of time before he decides to "protect" the daughter and the inevitability of the explosion certain to occur as the highly jealous mother discovers the truth has the inevitability of a Greek tragedy.
If you've never seen a film from this country, I recommend it: the slums of Manila have a reputation of being the world's deadliest. And then, there's the excellent performance from this rare beauty.....
