44 Inch Chest: The usual Mugs mug it up once again . . .

On no, Ray Winstone goes home to have his lovely wife (Joanne Whalley) tell him she's met someone else. Well, Ray being an outstanding mug and crew member finally loses it and pummels his dear wife all the way through a plate glass window. Immediately, his crew pick up on the crisis and hop into action to help save Ray from himself and his grief.
McShane, Wilkinson, Hurt, and Dillane kidnap the "loverboy" and lock him into a wardrobe to await the arrival of Ray and his wrath. This film is all about character and dialog--action it ain't. Written by the dudes who did Sexy Beast it has a very witty and biting texture to it. And again, Brit profanity hits a new high as art form.
Ray, sick with grief, ends up hallucinating at bit while his fellow mugs banter about trying to keep the lid on. McShane is outstanding as the crew's homosexual and John Hurt hilarious as the larger than life mouth of profanity.
Not the rousing Brit crime you might think. More a thinking man's dilemma with a criminal bent.
