I always thought he was the most unpleasant to look at actor, but last night I watched La Captive, and since then Stansilas Merhar took the lead.

About as exciting as a bowl of last week's grits, he should be ordered to commit sepuku, saving us all the disgrace of watching his empty face. How empty? Well, so empty Bergman could have used him in the dream sequence of the Wild Strawberries with the same effect.

Evening was not completely lost, however... as he took the stage after the gorgeous Loretta Young... her image still lingering in mind as Merhar went about his boring, boring, boring business.
