When five years is not enough... The Constant Gardener

The film is a real garbage, so I should have simply ignored it, having witnessed the "academy" go ga-ga over it... usually that is the sincerest form of warning.
But forget all that stupid plot... and instead look at what the director did not want you to think about.
As I watched that wretched piece, one thought kept pounding in my head... with all those people living on top of cesspools, what on Earth did stop them from taking a shovel and cleaning their environment?
What sort of act from the UN it takes for the people to realize you don't dump garbage where you live, that you make five or ten steps to the pit to do it?
Waiting for other people's money is fine, but why does it take the American or European money to clean your own ass... your own surrounding?
G-d helps those who help themselves. Seeing such total lack of desire to move one's behind to make one's life one small iotta better is sobering. No one can force you to live like a pig... only you can do that to yourself.
