The German Impressionist school of art had some magnificent artists. I don't know how many were Nazis, I think none of the greats, but that wouldn't diminish their art, in my mind. I think TS Eliot was a sympathizer at some point. Should we dismiss this great poet? How many English actors had supported Hitler during the 30s? Few people have crystal balls. A lunatic such as Hitler is to blame. I don't think any of the people I mentioned knew a Holocaust would come, nor that it was inevitable. To argue otherwise is to say the Holocaust wasn't unusual, that it was a known outcome of such speech.
