Too much is not enough for De Palma.

I'm not generally a fan of excess, but I quite enjoy Blow Out and Body Double. Blow Out is no Blow Up but it's well done - and the latter is pretty hilarious, especially for cinephiles. It's as loosey goosey as De Palma gets.

The Untouchables is hooha but terrifically entertaining and finely crafted hooha. I always watch it when it's on cable. Love the soundtrack, and like all De Palma movies, it's gorgeous to look at.

I haven't seen Casualties Of War in a long time. I regarded it as a "miss" at the time, but it has some devastating scenes in it.

I might be charmed by a director with a Hitchcock fixation nowdays, who knows.
