Monster movies...

...usually go downhill after you see the monster.

The suspense is gone.

The director did a good job of hiding the monster until the end.

This wasn't a monster movie as much as a movie about kids coming of age in the 1970s.

Stand by Me meets ET meets Cloverdale.
