but not the Birkin-bag original; for remakes + ( non ) swimming pools, my favorite is "Diabolique; watched the remake just because I'll watch anything with Isabelle Adjani, but didn't think this had any of the charm of the French original tho' the remake did follow the plot of the original faithfully enough

My favourite "swimming pool" film is Burt Lancasters "The Swimmer", he considered this his best film Ned Merrill finds himself at a pool-side party, and while someone offers to drive him home, he declines, as he realizes there is a spread of swimming pools right across the valley he lives in, and he can swim home instead
