O Brother, Where Art Thou...hugely improved on Blu-ray

Posted by Jazz Inmate on September 13, 2011 at 14:15:45:

The definition and color balance is much better. Visually it is a treat, as facial expressions and other details of skin, clothing, objects and landscapes pop with detail. Voices have more heft, clarity and timbral nuance. Soundstage is more alive. Gunfire is fast and crisp, even with the tommy gun that previously sounded like static with poor attack and decay. Down to the River - each voice is clearly delineated with air and excellent separation. You can even hear a cowbell chime just before the car chase scene and purcussive strumming and washboard that in the lossy DD soundtrack were congested and practically unintelligible over the sound of the gunfire, yelling and car engine and tires on the country road.

Another must-have Blu-ray.
