iconoclast American director, examines the career of Russian director, Alexander Medvedkin in, "The Last Bolshevik." Marker uses the director as a light to illuminate the inner workings of the Stalin era and shows the lengths to which some had to go to survive the decades of indeterminate slaughter, intrigue, and intimidation.
