It seemed as tho Mara did an imitation of Rapace's portrayal. A good one, but an imitation nonetheless, lacking gavitas. My son, who saw it with me, didn't see the original, and loved Mara's job.

As for the movie itself, it was a draw, IMHO, up until the ending. Hell, IIRC, it was basically the same movie. The poingant ending in the Sweedish version was much better than the Hollywood version. Plus,

Way too much time devoted to the looting of Wenrstrom's money in this incarnation. 10 minutes vs. 20 seconds. With no more impact.
