After getting a "box" about six weeks ago I haven't been able to leave the house. I will give "Dead" a shot. Right now I am deep into "Mad Men".

At first I was less than impressed with being hammered with every possible clich� of the 60's. Then, around episode 15 or so, I got hooked when the marital problems started and the series writing seemed to up tick to a higher plane. If you missed the sixties the answer is yes, people really smoked that much.
