"The Raid - Redemption": Jakarta is a hopping little place.....

Note Bene: No actors survived the filming of this movie.

A slight wisp of plot was all that was necessary to unleash WW3 fistacuffs Indonesian Style. A major police raid, organized by a vengeful lieutenant, fell into disarray shortly after the first victims fell. From then on it was the drug lord's men and tenants hunting and attacking the SWAT team from every conceivable angle. Only the super fast flying fists of Iko Uwais can keep the story going by defeating everything that crosses his path. In fact, Iko starts out shooting, then knife fighting, then hand to hand as the movie progresses to its finish. For reality's sake poor Iko picked up some scars along the way.

These are some of the "fastest fists" I've seen and I don't think movie magic had anything to do with it. A few of these guys are just possessed by some "fighting spirit". The film is entertaining IF you like marshal arts--and a LOT of it. The focus here is violence and some up close splattering. If guns to heads with splattering brains bother your ball and chain, leave her at home with the knitting. This is about survival and refusing to die. (There is no way the human body could sustain that level of adrenalin.)

Okay, if you move your lips when you read (you know who you are) then practice up because it is subtitled. Really a minor inconvenience because violence fills the space between the epic lines of dialog.

Good show, entertaining for guys and ghouls.
