Wanna be filmaker with Creatve Burnout

Posted by Raymond Leggs on April 17, 2012 at 13:22:13:

Oh man I'm so burned out creativity wise I really just want to make films.

I do not want to go to film school, heck I have learned more than what some people have ever learned at film school, just by listening to other filmakers, and watching Behind the scenes and stuff on DVDS.

I just have so many Ideas for screenplays but theres always something that kills the idea as soon as I get to the first part of the first act during the treatment.

I have written a script before but it was so bad , with subplots that went nowhere and multilayered plots all cramme into 80 pages. And some dialogue that want up to snuff and a romantic subplot that never resolved itself.

It was a potboiler that revolved around a dangerous victorian era weopon that was smucggled on board the HMHS britannic, and a middle eastern corporation wanted to get thier hands on it, to give terrorists a foothold in a countries dying government.

The political situation became outdated quickly. the script was started in 2004 and was finished in 2006. I deleted it and tossed the thing in the garbage.

I have a freind who knows a guy who made his own films one was a feature leinght horror picture and apparently he knows lee goldberg who wrote "monk" he even was on set with his short film "Bumsickle"

And I was hoping to get funding for one of my films with this guy

I really dont have any ideas for short films (which a freind reccomended I try, just features, so why not just jump back in.

I have another idea, for a story its about a young woman who while subcoming to hypothermia dreams of her past life and her future, and an imaginary clock ticks down the hours she has to live, she of course lives
because the clock restarts through her desire to spend the rest of her life with her lover.

I really wanted to revisit britannic, and I did write a new treatment for a modern western action film tha dealt with it but it feels kind of like its going to be wild wild west over again and there isnt any place I can fit yhe College/teenage humor that I originally wanted.

I wrote 40 pages from an earlier treatment and the jokes stunk to high heaven. And the thing is I am a Funny, guy.

I wanted to also make A vemently ANTI-CREATIONIST/INTELLEGENT DESIGN (I am against this fraud) fantasy trilogy that could be mad on a low buget due to its not so much a fantasy as to a contemporary scifi with fantay elements and all the effects could be miniatures as I used to build models in middle school.

I considered Britannic again, but inspired by King Kong (the old one) so I would shoot with greenscreen and have miniatures as backgrounds that I will build myself. (I will never use superglue again after that!)

NO CGI ever. I dont like low budget CGI because it looks like Playstation.

I want it to be a 20s adventure film with witty dialogue, cute and amusingly bad but still quite good effects.

I dont have any good camera, nor job due to college classes.
