Our little company is based out of Sac town. Partner lives 20(?) miles out (Fair Oaks)

because of costs and still has to send his kids to private schools. I'd imagine "in town" housing prices are scary high (compared to the south) based on what he paid for his house.

Downtown and Old Town are nice but my perspective is really from a "tourists" point of view. I doubt if crime is higher than larger cities in Missipissippi, Louisiana and Alabama, but agin I'd defer to a native.
