Make sure you do your pricing homework.

CA is EXPENSIVE $$$

Everything is more expensive: housing, taxes, food, utilities, gas, electricity, fines, parking tickets, etc.

My wife is currently in Wisconsin and is reporting gasoline 1$/gal cheaper than here in CA.

When I go back to WI, I can buy dinner for 6 for less than the price of 2 our here.

Do your homework and if you decide to move to CA, make sure you salary delta is sufficient.
